On Tuesday, the Markets for Good team headed to the Houses of Parliament in the UK with MPs and other #GivingTuesday UK partners for a very special announcement.

According to UK Fundraising, 35% of Britons will be donating on #GivingTuesday this year. As a partner, the Markets for Good team were invited down to the Houses of Parliament for a very special announcement. There are already more than 1,100 partners for the campaign this year.

At the event, the Charities Aid Foundation, who are responsible for coordinating this event in the UK, announced that Manchester has officially become the first #GivingTuesday city. A group of Manchester-based organisations have come together to create a city-wide #GivingTuesday campaign to benefit local causes through their initiative, Manchester Gives More.

Last year, the #GivingTuesday campaign attracted supporters from businesses, government bodies and even celebrities like Helen Mirren – we can’t wait to see the movement grow this year!
