We take a look back at one of our favorite TED talks on data visualization.
As many of you will you know, TED 2015: Truth or Dare is currently taking place in Vancouver, Canada. To mark this event, we thought it appropriate to cycle back through the years to one of our favorite TED talks, ‘The Beauty of Data Visualization‘ by David McCandless.
In David’s talk, he turns complex data sets (like worldwide military spending, media buzz, and Facebook status updates) into beautiful, simple diagrams that tease out unseen patterns and connections. “Good design,” he suggests, “is the best way to navigate the glut of information we have available to us. It may even change the way we see the world.”
Enjoy!
Thanks to David McCandless for his look into the power and beauty of data visualization by a self labeled ‘data detective.’ For further updates, do follow David on Twitter @mccandelish.
