A white paper released by European Digital Rights (EDRi) explains key aspects of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
On May 16 at RightsCon in Toronto, EDRi Executive Director Joe McNamee joined a panel of experts to discuss the far-reaching effects of GDPR. For instance, EDRi has warned against GDPR certification fraud, a trend it says could be disastrous because GDPR doesn’t hold certification schemes to high standards.
The white paper provides an overview of key issues regarding the proposed Regulation, explaining why they are important, clarifying points which have sometimes been misunderstood in the debate, and suggesting improvements to the regulation.
