Today we’re highlighting DIY Toolkit’s updated resources for driving innovation in nonprofits
Several months ago we published an article highlighting a website called ‘DIY Toolkit’ – a digital ‘do it yourself’ online resource for nonprofits.
The reason for us bringing this (back) to your attention, is they have updated their website with new videos and blogs to better support nonprofits. The toolkit has been “designed for development practitioners to invent, adopt or adapt ideas that can deliver better results” and we’re highlighting one specific blog post to emphasize this.
“You cannot operate a sustainable business without profit”
DIY Toolkit’s recent guest blog post is written by CEO of Business Models Inc, and author of ‘Business Model Generation’ producer, Patrick van der Pijl. He makes the case for more design oriented business modeling, in order to drive innovation.
van der Pijl believes innovation is a vital part of building “business models beyond profit.” He says that ultimately, “being profitable is also an important aspect in the social sector, as you cannot operate a sustainable business without profit. We call this “profit with a purpose.”
Enjoy both the original blog post here, and we hope you can put some of the resources from DIY Toolkit to good use.
Many thanks to DIY Toolkit, be sure to download their resources and read the original blog post.
