Catherine D’Ignazio is an Assistant Professor of Civic Media & Data Visualization in the Department of Journalism at Emerson College, a Senior Fellow at the Emerson Engagement Lab and a research affiliate at the MIT Center for Civic Media/MIT Media Lab. Catherine is currently running the Data Culture Project with Rahul Bhargava to help nonprofit organizations kickstart their data literacy, writing a book about feminist approaches to big data and AI with Lauren Klein, and recovering from the 2018 Make the Breastpump Not Suck Hackathon at MIT (which included the Make Family Leave Not Suck Policy Summit.
